Kent Design Presentation

Eleanor and Donald presented two projects at the Revitalising Rural Places Seminar held by Kent Design, showcasing high quality projects within Kent and beyond from practices RCKa, Charles Holland Architects, Clague, Mikhail Richies, PJA and Rummey Design and ourselves.

We presented our Orchard Farm Self Build and Millwall Training Ground. Both projects were particularly well received and discussions and debates in the Q and A afterwards focused on how to reduce car dominance, what does sustainable development really mean, how do we encourage more richness of urban grain and placemaking in urban expansion sites, are we taking the right approach as a society creating development that is low density and therefore land hungry, dominated by vehicle infrastructure.

The big question is how do we bring the public along to facilitate change?
