Within EDLA, sustainability and the environment is an ongoing discussion.
We are always looking for ways to be better, to learn more and we want to move to a place where we can encourage those that we work for and with to do the same.
Every project will not be perfect, but we will strive for the environment to be the first thought with everything we do. We are compiling a Climate Manifesto for clients, outlining some of the potential impacts that a project can have and our methods for limiting them. The aim of this is to place the climate crisis at the front of all our minds when considering a scheme.
We want to work on inspiring projects which innovate the way that we design stunning spaces, whilst regenerating the landscape that we live in and we want the people that we work with and for to have the same vision.
We have taken direction from the American Society of Landscape Architects. Their document ‘Climate Action Now: A Landscape Architect’s Guide to Climate Advocacy’ has been helpful in the shaping of our plan to work towards becoming an even more regenerative practice.
