EDLA offers work experience placement to Katie, a BA student at Sheffield University

We have had student Katie English join us for work experience over a few weeks in the summer, she is currently studying at Sheffield University.  During her time with us she supported the team with work, ideas, deadlines and joined us at meetings and on site visits. She has been a valuable member for the few weeks she was with us and we enjoyed getting to know her.

Katie also wrote us a few sentences about her time with us:

I’d like to thank all at EDLA for providing me with the opportunity to work with them over the summer, gaining insight into the role of a landscape architect in a practical setting.  Having the ability to work as part of the team, and being able to contribute to a number of projects at different stages of development has been invaluable and has complimented the learning from the 1st year of my degree.  I have truly appreciated the importance of planning and designing the landscape taking into consideration the needs of the end user as well as the surrounding environment.  Having the ability to join multi-disciplinary project meetings demonstrated how complex the planning and design process is and how it is essential that many subject matter experts need to come together to deliver as a team.  A thoroughly enjoyable experience, I have built on my knowledge, gained experience but most importantly felt part of the EDLA team – Thank you!

Best of luck for your year ahead Katie!

As part of our commitment to the next generation, in addition to paying our work experience people fairly for their time, we also make a financial contribution of £200 towards books or uni materials for your year ahead.   If you would be interested in a placement with us, please apply a few months ahead, we will do our best to accommodate you.  You will be interviewed informally as we have a high number of applications and can only accommodate 2 students a year.
