
Professional Specialities: Donald is an award-winning landscape Architect + Fellow of the Landscape Institute, recognised for his expertise in public realm design and urban regeneration projects. He serves on multiple design panels, including Design Council and Design South East, providing expert design guidance to significant development schemes. His previous advisory role with the London Legacy Development Corporation contributed to his established authority in urban landscape design. As Co-Founder and Director of EDLA, Donald oversees the landscape design of the practice.
Recent projects: Donald’s portfolio includes Orchard Farm, recently shortlisted for a Landscape Institute Award in Masterplanning and winner of the World Landscape Architecture award 2023. His diverse experience extends to specialised sports landscapes including Millwall FC’s training ground and the innovative Wave Garden artificial wave lagoon in Bettshanger.
Motivation: Donald is passionate about the narrative potential of landscapes and their ability to tell compelling stories about place, culture, and environment. He excels at communicating complex design ideas through various media, using storytelling techniques to create meaningful connections between people and landscapes.
Qualifications: Donald is a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) and a Fellow of the Landscape Institute (FLI) with diverse academic credentials including Landscape Architecture degrees from Kingston University (BA and postgraduate), qualifications in Theology, and recently expanded his legal knowledge with a Law degree. He contributes to professional development as a mentor for Kingston University students.
Additional role: Donald serves as Associate Lecturer at the University of Creative Arts, Canterbury.
