Professional Specialities: Kate specialises in aquatic planting and natural swimming pond design. Kate’s previous experience working with natural swimming ponds has led to an interest in flood defence and how attenuation ponds can be designed in a more engaging and integrated way. She also has specialisms in drafting, 3D modelling and visualisation skills.
Recent Projects: Designing landscaping schemes for semi-rural homes that concentrate on supporting Biodiversity Net Gain and dormice habitat expansion for sites including greenfield sites in Kent. Her work also includes supporting senior team members on complex urban sites.
Motivation: Kate has come to landscape architecture from an interior architecture background where she was increasingly designing interior gardens that blurred the boundaries between interior and exterior. This interest led her to pursuing a career in Landscape Architecture.
She has a keen interest in how nature can bring communities together and improve mental health. She is determined to design in a way that benefits people and incorporates nature from the offset, bringing a positive impact on communities while innovating ways to tackle the climate crisis.
