Sedgemere Road, Abbey Wood

Our public realm design at Sedgemere Road in Abbey Wood draws inspiration from marshland, carefully considering its location, orientation, and integration with the surrounding urban context. The landscape masterplan aims to create a green public space with areas for relaxation, recreation, and play, contributing to an active meeting point for the area.

Key elements include accessible routes, activity spaces, and green corridors with a variety of tree species. Community-focused areas, such as pocket parks and recreational spaces, will provide additional amenities. Harrow Manorway Square has been planned as a central gathering space, positioned where pedestrian paths meet to foster a relaxed environment. It also provides access to a landscaped corridor leading to the eastern play area.

The Rain Garden Play Area incorporates natural elements and planting to create an educational environment that promotes play and sustainability, encouraging exploration and physical activity.

The Secret Garden and upper-floor terraces offer quiet spaces designed to enhance social connection and sustainability. Seating areas with views and intimate spaces surrounded by nature help foster a sense of community. Multi-stem trees and pergolas provide shelter and tranquillity, enhancing the overall experience.
